( Fi had been the worst, and it had made the shock even over people she wasn't really close to worse than it should have been. Mitsuki, Peter, she liked them both and they reminded her in bits and pieces of friends at home, but it was definitely worse because of Fi. Ahiru she'd known a little better. Realising the four of them were gone at once hadn't been a good day.

She's glad none of them were here for the past couple of months, though. )

[She jumps a little at the quickness, but relaxes just a second later, hurrying in and taking a seat before she looks up at Ellie.]

So, um... How have you been?

That's a question and a half.

( But really, though. )

I've been worse. ( More softly, considering Ahiru for a few moments. ) I reckon you've probably heard all the shit that went down this end. What's been going on with you, Ahiru?

Yeah, I've heard. I just... I know there's probably nothing, not now, but if there's anything I could do to help you, I'd like to.

[She pauses for just a moment.]

Mm, I've been fine. It sounds like everyone here went through a lot more than I did, so it's you guys I'm more worried about.

[reconnaissance]

It hasn't all been bad stuff. ( There's been good patches, here and there. Some crazy, complicated ones, too. Ellie maybe just seems a little more tired, than before. A little less fiery and angry? It'd be a joke to say she can't still get there, but she's a little less volatile.

A little shrug. ) Having people around is good. I'm glad you're back.

( Look at her, getting all sentimental. ) We're tough, yeah? It's good you managed to miss some of the rough stuff.

[Her expression lightens a bit, though she's still grim, and she leans forward.]

Yeah? Tell me some of the good stuff. I mean, if you want.

[And then she sighs, looking down.]

Mm, I guess it's good, but... I wish there was something I could have done to help.

It's better you were safe. I mean, I was here, and I just wound up lying around. ( A shrug. It sucks, she hates that she was so useless, but she's dealing with it. )

( If you want to be technical about it. She rolls her eyes at herself - this is ridiculous. ) She's basically the most annoying person you could ever imagine.

( But she says that super fondly, fyi. ) You know when people just kinda make things better by being there?
