I don't know, but I think I want to do more. Last time I only went on missions when we had to... That's not right.

Can you volunteer? I figured you got picked if they thought you were right for the job.

( Looking over her shoulder, curious. Intrigued, actually, and she's obviously thinking it over as the kettle gets closer to boiling. )

Maybe you can give motivational speeches, or something.

[She laughs, shaking her head.]

No, I think I'd get too nervous for that. Stuttering isn't very motivational!

( Ellie shrugs, frowning a little. )

I dunno. I did a lot of stuff back home, but doing it when you don't want to or aren't ready, it burns you up. You just start being angry all the time, 'cause you stepped up and someone else didn't.

( It's not an especially comforting thought, admittedly. People not picking up the slack at home drove her up the wall, but then, she'd never trusted Fi to really let her do stuff on her own the way she should've have trusted her. )

[She looks away, staring down towards the floor, with a quick shake of her head. A breath.]
