permissions & plotting

Good day, gentle reader! This here is a permission and plotting post for Ellie. I am open to a lot of ideas and would love to discuss, so feel free to comment here or message me to brainstorm.

If you scroll down, you will also see information on her powers. If there are particular things you would like to discuss or boundaries we could play with or set out in regards to those I am all ears.

Out of Character
Backtagging: Absolutely
Threadhopping: Totally cool, although if something is locked or happening for specific plotty purposes with another character it'd be preferable if you checked first. I don't imagine that'll be a thing often, or they'd probably be locked anyway.
Fourthwalling: I am all up for participating in fourth-wall events, but I'd rather not have Ellie know that she is fictional.
Offensive subjects: Nothing in particular comes to mind; if something bothers me, I'll talk to you about it privately, not a big deal.

In Character
Hugging this character: Yes, although she is very particular about trusting people and boundaries.
Kissing this character: Probably a bad idea from an ic perspective, but I think it would be hilarious.
Flirting with this character: Do it. Hilarious for me, she will probably be cranky. Or not notice. Or ignore it. It really depends, but feel free to talk to me about things if you aren't sure.
Fighting with this character: Yes. She is just a human, though, and not in the best physical condition, so odds are she wouldn't do terribly well in a fight. She could should your character, though.
Injuring this character (include limits and severity): I am up for most things, especially if it is part of PLOT and GROWTH and all that kind of good thing. As long as she isn't permanently maimed or something, I think it could be interesting. Let us discuss and scheme.
Killing this character: Not at the moment.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: I am all for it. Her mind is a dark place and full of very violent images and some very painful memories; it might not be a nice place for your character to venture. However, I'd be really interested in exploring the idea of Ellie interacting with a telepath, and it could be extra exciting as her Exsilium powers develop further.

Warnings: Violence, war. PTSD, basically.

Powers in Exsilium
Ellie will be choosing an AK-47 from the Initiative armoury; she's used assault and hunting rifles before in canon, but she won't have either at the time that she arrives in game.
The weapon itself will begin as being silent, without that telltale “uh oh, a shot sure just got fired” sound. In canon, the fear of being seen/caught/killed is a big feature, and something Ellie is frequently struggling with. They often have to make dashes after being spotted or stay still for hours, or just do random and brave/stupid things to keep each other alive and out of danger. As a result of this kind of deeply ingrained fear and awareness of her surrounds from canon, it'd be awesome if her weapon could evolve to gradually grant Ellie stealth powers, with the progression going as follows:

• silent gun (constant)
• enhanced weapon range & eyesight/accuracy (constant)
• silent movement (eg. no footsteps even on gravel • uncontrolled/instinctive ❯ controlled)
• shadow camouflage (ability to blend into shadows • uncontrolled/instinctive ❯ controlled)
• camouflage (ability to blend into immediate surroundings regardless of light • controlled)
• invisibility (controlled)
• invisibility "area of effect" - because of Ellie's desire to protect her group as well as herself she will develop an “area of effect” variation of her silence and invisibility so that she is not the only one who can be Ultra Stealthy (uncontrolled/instinctive ❯ controlled)
imperceptibility (controlled) - it would take Ellie a long time to get to this point, and I'd also be totally willing to discuss with other players so as not to overpower her; I actually think it would be more interesting for Ellie to not know the limits of this and to sometimes be caught out with telepaths and other powers wielders, with the variety that is inevitable in a pan-fandom game, and I'd be sure to communicate with other players on that front. Mostly it'd be kind of cool if she had the capacity to sometimes avoid detection completely in case it should be useful for Plot Things, or something.
